The Design Heritage Project is an online gallery built by MIT Design Heritage Lab, led by Professor Takehiko Nagakura, with the purpose of collecting, sharing, and curating 3D captures of landmarks, historical preservations, heritage places and spatial designs.
Each digital heritage building contains a gallery of individually uploaded 3D photogrammatric models and a collaborative patchwork area.
MDP enables collaboration and interaction with heritage through multiple means.
Sharing of exclusive, valuable documentation of historical sites enabled through 3D-scanning.
GuideAccessible via mobile devices, users can explore heritage from multiple perspective through AR.
GuideUser can create a storyboard with a series of models and perspectives, and guide the viewers through a storyline.
